It is important the surgeon doesn’t overharvest the area where the transplants are extracted leaving it overly thin and unnatural in appearance.

As the donor area of a patient is limited it is always advisable to use as few grafts as possible in order to have graft resources for further surgeries. The donor seems to be properly harvested. The donor can not be finally assessed.

Doctors should design an aesthetically pleasing, natural and age appropriate hairline for their patient.

The design of the hair line is appropriate and natural for the patient’s age. A natural hair line has dominantly single grafts as in this case.

Treatment & Method Appropriateness

The doctor should be able to assess the patient’s hair loss for the most suitable method, e.g. FUE or FUT.

The FUE Method is appropriate for the hair loss degree. Especially for young patient it is necessary to combine the hair transplant with suitable hair loss medication in order to achieve a lasting result and stop the hair loss of the native hair. However, in the present case the patient is not taking any hair loss medication.

Density

In order to achieve a visual sufficient density usually 30+ grafts per cm² need to be transplanted.

In the present case the patient seems to have a natural and full density. The overall density was not improved by hair loss medication like Finasteride and Minoxidil.

The surgeon performs the pre- and post-consultation as well as part of the graft extraction. He also does the opening of the channels in which the grafts are implanted. Large parts of the hair follicle extraction and the complete insertion of the grafts are done by assistants. This normally ensures rather reliable and consistent results.

Because of the distance an in-person consultation was not possible for me. However, the clinic responded quickly to all questions. A call with a consultant was possible. I was informed of all risks and all questions were answered. The clinic communicated via Whatsapp and E-Mail.

The clinic is a modern medical facility and the surgery proceeded without complications. Furthermore the staff were always friendly and took great care of the patient.

After Care & Recovery

A post-consultation and evaluation of the result was done the day after the surgery. The donor area was fully healed after 2 weeks.
